Thumble Step-By-Step Software Walkthrough

After logging in, Thumble takes you to the main Dashboard. The top navigation provides quick access to Campaigns, Faces, Credits, Training, Settings, and Teams. You can also review recent activity and check the Daily Generation chart to see how frequently each creation tool has been used.

Scroll down to the Recently Used section and click Create New Campaign. A campaign keeps every thumbnail for the same channel, client, video series, or topic grouped inside one organized workspace.

The campaign dashboard presents three Quick Actions. Select the option that best matches the material you already have and the type of thumbnail you want to produce: Create Thumbnail / Face Swap / Edit Thumbnail

Click Create Thumbnail to open the template library. Begin by selecting the correct aspect ratio: 16:9 Landscape for regular YouTube videos or 9:16 Portrait for vertical content. Browse the available designs and pick a thumbnail with a layout close to the direction you want.

Using a template speeds up the creative process because Thumble can retain the original composition while updating the headline, person, graphics, and supporting elements. Choose Start From Scratch when the library does not contain a suitable design for your idea.

Once you select a template, Thumble shows the chosen design and opens the instruction panel. Enter the exact headline or wording you want under Caption Instructions. Short phrases work best because long text becomes difficult to read when the thumbnail appears at a smaller size in the YouTube feed.

Use Visual Instructions to describe every change required in the source design. Include details about the new person, clothing, pose, facial expression, objects, background, colors, mood, framing, and any element that needs removal or replacement. The Write Using AI option can turn a simple concept into a more complete creative instruction.

Continue scrolling to add the visual assets required for the thumbnail. Under Add Graphics, upload a logo, icon, product image, transparent PNG, badge, or another supporting element. Each uploaded file appears as a selectable asset tile.

Under Add People, choose a saved face, select No Face, browse more profiles, or upload a new person. In the demo, a saved person and a chain graphic are selected so the AI can place both assets into the final composition.

Prompt tip: Give every uploaded asset a clear name and mention that name inside the Visual Instructions. This makes it easier for the AI to identify which item should be inserted, replaced, enlarged, repositioned, or removed.

Select one of the Image AI models available in your account. Each model may handle realism, typography, colors, and creative interpretation differently, so the ideal option can depend on the style of thumbnail you are creating.

Check the credit amount shown beside each AI model before continuing. After reviewing the caption, visual instructions, uploaded assets, and selected person, click Generate Thumbnail. Thumble then processes your inputs and produces a new design.

The result page shows the generated thumbnail along with the number of credits used. Before approving it, inspect the headline spelling, text positioning, subject size, facial details, hands, uploaded assets, contrast, and readability on smaller screens.

Modify: Open the instruction field and request a specific adjustment while keeping the current thumbnail as the base design.

Regenerate: Produce a new interpretation from the same setup when the first version does not match your intended direction.

Download: Save the current version once it meets your publishing requirements.

Click Modify to open the refinement panel. Request one focused change at a time, such as replacing the background, strengthening the text hook, swapping an object, moving the subject, changing the clothing, or correcting the overall color treatment.

Select the Image AI model you want to use for the revision, then click Modify. Precise instructions usually retain more of the existing design than a complete rewrite. Continue refining the image until all important elements look right.

Go back to the template library and select Start From Scratch to develop a new concept without using an existing thumbnail layout. The process uses the same main inputs, but the AI has no source design controlling the composition.

Add the final headline under Caption Instructions. In Visual Instructions, describe the full scene, including the background, subject, expression, pose, props, color palette, lighting, text hierarchy, and desired layout. You can then add a logo, upload supporting graphics, choose a person, and select an Image AI model.

In the recorded demonstration, Thumble generates a new “Fix Your SEO” thumbnail using the written instructions and chosen assets. View the design at full size, then imagine how it will appear as a small YouTube card. The main headline and subject should remain clear without close inspection.

Choose Modify for exact corrections or Regenerate to explore a different creative interpretation. Download the thumbnail only after confirming the text, crop, contrast, face quality, and brand placement.

Choose Face Swap from the Quick Actions menu. In the Thumbnail Source section, paste a YouTube URL and click Fetch, or upload the source thumbnail directly. The demo interface supports uploads of up to 5 MB.

Next, select a saved face or upload a new one. Pick your preferred Image AI model and choose 16:9 for standard YouTube thumbnails or 9:16 for vertical artwork. Click Generate Thumbnail once the source image and replacement face are ready.

After choosing a face, Thumble displays an instruction field beside the selection. Explain exactly which person in the original thumbnail should be replaced and mention any other changes required in the finished image. In the demo, the instruction asks the AI to replace the man, turn the hard hat blue, and add an electronic screwdriver.

Select the required output orientation and click Generate Thumbnail. A sharp replacement photo with a clearly visible face, natural lighting, and a camera angle similar to the source person usually produces a cleaner result.

Examine the generated face swap for natural skin tone, accurate face shape, a clean hairline, matching lighting, and proper alignment with the body. Review the additional requested edits as well, including clothing, tools, and background details.

Use Modify for minor corrections, Regenerate for a new version, and Download once the result looks realistic. The demonstration produces a portrait 9:16 image, confirming that Face Swap also works for vertical promotional designs.

Choose Edit Thumbnail when you already have a completed design that needs AI-powered revisions. Paste a YouTube URL and select Fetch, or upload the thumbnail file directly. The version shown in the demo accepts files up to 5 MB.

Use Add Graphics to upload a logo, icon, product image, or another visual asset that needs to appear in the edited thumbnail. Enter the requested changes under Edit Details. Mention uploaded asset names whenever possible so the AI can connect each instruction with the correct file.

The demonstration uploads a logo and starts the Edit Details instruction with wording such as “Put the logo…”. Make the request more precise by specifying the position, size, spacing, and any area of the thumbnail that must remain clear.

Select an Image AI model, verify the aspect ratio, and click Generate Thumbnail. Evaluate the result using the same standards applied to new designs: correct text, accurate asset placement, clean edges, strong contrast, and balanced positioning of the subject.
